Beaches are one of the main draws to Gold Coast area. Rainbow Bay and Coolangatta Beach have the safest swimming and there are always life guards on duty. Flagstaff and Dunbar beaches are located on the southeast of the peninsula. Flagstaff is known for fast waves that make it ideal for surfing.
