Corfu has a rich history, typified by bitter struggles for control of the island. Over the years, a number of different empires have shown an interest in Corfu. These days however Corfu is more stable, having been part of Greece for well over 100 years. The culture here is similar to Greece, but with a unique Corfu flavour.
