Maulid Nabi (Birth of the Prophet Mohammad) is celebrated by Muslims as it is the birthday of the Prophet Mohammed. Muslims, dressed in their best outfits, honour the Prophet and gather at mosques to pray. After the prayers, sweets are handed out and perfumed water sprinkled on the devotees. There are also competitions to win food that has been blessed by the Prophet.
