The Israeli Shekel (ILS) is the country’s official currency and is divided into 100 agorot. Notes are issued in denominations of ILS200, 100, 50, and 20. Coins are issued in denominations of ILS100, 50, 10, 5 and 1, and 50 and 10 agorot. ATMs invariably accept foreign cards while cash can be exchanged at bureaux de change, banks and hotels.
