Amman’s tourist attractions mostly relate to its previous status as a Roman town and later its prominence within the Islamic world. The city features a number of startling mosques that can be happily viewed from the outside by non-Muslims, like the distinct Abu Darweesh Mosque that looks quite unlike any other.
