Warsaw is one of the more recently-founded cities in Poland, and hasn’t been around for quite as long as Gdansk or Krakow. It has been around for a number of centuries, though, as it was established in the 14th century by the dukes of Amazonia. At that time it was designed to be well protected by fortified walls and the Royal Castle, both of which are still standing today.
