Museums aren’t top of everyone’s list when travelling in the Algarve but you will find a number of interesting options if you wish to explore. Archaeology plays a central theme with a number of museums dedicated to Moorish, Roman and Gothic finds in the region. Vilamoura’s Cerro da Vila is something of a gem and Lagos’s Municipal Museum is also an interesting place to spend a few hours.
