Ficksburg Cherry Festival, one of South Africa’s oldest festivals, this event dates to 1969. Today more than 20,000 people come to taste the cherries and asparagus; to picnic and listen to some good music; and watch the Miss Cherry Blossom and the Miss Cherry Pip contests.
